Chris oversees disability compliance of the institution and ensures that departmental goals and objectives are met. He received a B.A. in Psychology from Shippensburg University, a M.S. in Counseling and Educational Psychology from West Chester University, and is a doctoral candidate in Educational Administration and Leadership at Indiana University of Pennsylvania/East Stroudsburg University. Chris has specific expertise in the areas of brain injury and psychological disabilities. He also has a strong interest in the phenomena of student leadership development and assisting students with disabilities to realize their leadership potential.

Mary Ann comes to us with a background in education, having taught both public school and college for many years, including special education and gifted and talented. She has Master’s Degrees in both Education and English Literature.  In addition to her role as a Learning Support Specialist, she is the advisor for Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society for Students with Disabilities and handles the recruiting, hiring and training of both the peer note-takers and professional tutors. Mary Ann also regularly meets with both full-time and adjunct faculty members to guide them in providing materials and strategies to best serve our students’ varied learning styles.

Dawn was born and raised in Warren County, NJ approximately 20 miles outside of Hackettstown. After high school, Dawn pursued a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Social Work and a Master's degree in Special Education with a teaching certification N-12 from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.  Prior to joining Centenary College’s DSO team in 2011, Dawn had the pleasure of teaching students in elementary and secondary life skills and emotional support settings. She also has several years experience working as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC). As a BSC, Dawn has had the privilege of working with a diverse population of individuals with various psychological needs.  Dawn is also a professional ice skating coach with over 15 years of coaching experience and is a member of The US Figure Skating Association (USFSA).

Adrienne earned a B.A. in Psychology from the College of Saint Elizabeth and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. Before joining the DSO staff in 2013, Adrienne worked in agencies specializing in individual, family, and group counseling. She provided services to at risk youth and families, individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, trauma survivors, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Adrienne is a Licensed Social Worker currently pursuing her clinical license and is an active member in the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Tara ensures the overall smooth operation of the Disability Services Office. She coordinates the accommodative test proctoring program and maintains all relevant data relating to the office. She is likely the first person one sees when visiting the office and one of the best people to answer questions relating to the department or the College. She grew up in nearby Morris County and attended Mount Olive High School and County College of Morris while working part time as the Director of an afterschool program. She holds a bachelor degree in Individualized Studies with concentrations in History and Sociology from Centenary College.

Cara Marucci earned a BS in Psychology from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA and a Master’s of Education in Counseling Services from William Paterson University. Before joining the DSO staff in 2013, Cara worked in a public high school in Morris County assisting students with disabilities as well as in the agency setting providing therapeutic services to individuals and families.  Cara also has several years experience providing behavior therapy and social skills training and has earned a Post-Master’s in Behavior Analysis in order to further her knowledge base for assisting children with ASD and their families. Cara holds her School Counseling certification and is currently a Licensed Associate Counselor pursuing her professional license.

Maureen joined the DSO staff in the fall of 2009 after several successful years serving as a professional tutor for both DSO and the Academic Success Center. She possesses a Master of Speech Language Pathology degree from the University of South Carolina and is a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of New Jersey. Prior to coming to Centenary College, she worked in private practice and rehabilitation medical settings. Her role as a Learning Support Specialist has allowed her to utilize her background and expertise in new ways to assist students in achieving success in higher education.

Heather earned a B.A. in Sociology-Anthropology/Social Work from East Stroudsburg University, and a Master's degree in Social Work from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. Before joining the DSO staff in 2006, Heather worked in agencies specializing in individual and family counseling, Autism Spectrum Disorders, hospice care, and child protective services. Heather, a licensed clinical social worker, is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She also serves on the BSW advisory board at Centenary and as secretary of NJ AHEAD.
