Thank you for supporting the Writing Center and Online Writing Lab at Centenary College.

We hope that all of your students write so well that you'll have no need to use any form other than the tutor recommendation form. But on behalf of the few who will have problems, let me thank you in advance for helping them find their way to the Writing Center, located in the Learning Center. Your concern for their writing skills and insistence on competent writing are naturally of great importance and will sooner or later be appreciated by them.

When you send students to us for work on an assignment, you can be assured that we will:

• Not give our opinions of what grade a paper should receive
• Not discuss any teacher's grading or other classroom practices
• Not do any of the writing for the student
• Work in order of assignment, thesis and organization, paragraph skills, style and word choice, and finally grammar, punctuation and spelling

HUB tutors will keep the lines of communication open by sending you progress reports that detail the instruction given. Essentially, a good writing tutor frees the faculty from the more tedious aspects of teaching writing and allows them to focus more on content and ideas.

The HUB would to make it easier for you, the faculty to:

• Submit recommendations for tutors
• Referral forms for students you want using the Writing Center or OWL on more formal basis
• Request a Writing Associate
• Request an classroom presentation on the Writing Center or a writing topic
• Discuss ways the Writing Center and its tutors can better serve the faculty and the college

You can do any of the following by emailing us at owl@centenarycollege.edu. In the subject line of your email, please state simply, "Faculty Support." In the body of your email please describe your request. Feel free to copy and paste one of the options above into the body. Provide us with contact information (if different from email address). You will receive a reply within 48 hours of submitting your request.
