Academic Success Center Professional Tutoring Program
Description
The Academic Success Center provides professional tutors to foster academic enrichment and student success.
Tutoring is provided by appointment through the Academic Success Center.
Professional tutors are individuals who have earned a Bachelors degree or higher. They have a passion for teaching and are capable of assisting individuals or groups of up to three.
These services are paid for by the college and are available to students free of charge.
How it Works
Tutoring is scheduled by appointment for one hour sessions. Sessions are usually a one-to-one teaching experience.
Tutors make their general availability known to the Academic Success Center and sessions are scheduled to accommodate students' class schedules. Tutoring may take place days or evenings in a classroom or designated area in the college library.
Students request tutoring by completing a tutor request form in addition to meeting with an Academic Success Center staff member. Generally, students are assigned to a tutor within 24-48 hours after a request is made. An email will be sent to both the student and tutor confirming the session.
