Beta Beta Beta

Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 200,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 520 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

To be considered for TriBeta, undergraduate majors in biological science must:

  • Complete at least one term of the second year of a four©\year curriculum or its equivalent; and,
  • Complete at least three term courses in biological science, of which at least one is not an introductory course.

Average grade of B in those classes for those courses must be a B, and the student must be in good overall academic standing.Associate membership is available for students interested in the life sciences but who are not yet eligible for regular membership --- such as Biology majors who do not have enough classes or do not meet the GPA, Biology or Environmental Science minors, and any student with a significant interest in biological science.

Delta Alpha Pi

The Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society (DAP) was founded in 2004 at East Stoudsburg University in Pennsylvania. Centenary College is the Theta Chapter of DAP and proudly recognizes the acdemic achievements of students with disabilities. The three Greek letters stand for disability, achievement, and pride. In order to be inducted into DAP, undergraduate students must complete a minimum of 24 credits (at Centenary College) and attain a cumulative GPA of 3.1. Graduate students must complete a minimum of 18 credits and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.3. On February 8, 2010, the Theta Chapter held its Fourth Annual Induction Ceremony in which 14 students were inducted. There are currently 30 active members.

Delta Alpha Pi is committed to raising awareness regarding disabilities and facilitating the development of leadership and self-advocacy skills. A mentoring program is sponsored by DAP members to help students with disabilities transition to the college environment.

Kappa Mu Epsilon

Kappa Mu Epsilon is a specialized honor society in Mathematics. It was founded in 1931 to promote the interest of mathematics among undergraduate students. Its chapters are located in colleges and universities of recognized standing which offer a strong mathematics major. The chapters' members are selected from students of mathematics and other closely related fields who have maintained standards of scholarship, have professional merit, and have attained academic distinction.

Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of History through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. Sigma Tau Delta

The central purpose of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors, is to confer the distinction upon outstanding students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature.

The Alpha Kappa Alpha chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, was founded at Centenary College in January of 2001. Our mission is to introduce new programs to the Centenary College community and to encourage interest in the field of English. We have coordinated special events from guest speakers to poetry slams to community service.
