Master Development Plan
As one of New Jersey's fastest-growing colleges, Centenary College has created a community experience that transcends academics. We engage our students as well as the entire region in the College's educational and cultural offerings.
The College developed a Master Development Plan for the Hackettstown campus to keep pace with the needs for our students and provide a cultural resource for the surrounding northwest New Jersey region.
The plan includes a new residence hall, renovations to the athletic facilities, and expansion of its fine and performing arts program. The plan view to the right shows proposed construction in red and existing structures in blue.
The centerpiece of the plan is the David and Carol Lackland Center. This new center will enable Centenary to expand the College's Communications, Performing and Fine Arts programs, adding:
- Two new theaters for plays, concerts, and public performances
- A new cafeteria
- A new Student Center
- A new bookstore
Co-curricular activities, from Midnight Run to Students in Free Enterprise, will have new facilities in which to provide students and the community with expanded community service programs.
The Master Development Plan also calls for additional classrooms, a renovated and expanded Reeves Recreation Center, improved pathways, and more parking. Founders Hall opened in September 2006.
