Title  Project Facilitator
Description  Nature of Work

This position is part-time and will be responsible for working under the direction of the Project Coordinator with guidance from
the Project Director to coordinate strategies of the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program Grant. The ideal individual will
have a bachelor’s degree in either behavioral health sciences with additional work-related experiences in communications,
marketing or event planning or a bachelor’s degree in business/communications with additional work-related experiences in the
behavioral health field, speak English with bilingual Spanish a plus, and have experience in substance abuse prevention and
community development. The person must be able and willing to work with diverse populations of all races, genders, and ages.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:



· Providing coordination of proposed strategies to effectively fulfill the community-wide prevention plan.

· Assist in the recruitment of diverse groups and stakeholders.

· Assist in facilitation of community education and special events.

· Assist in maintaining ongoing community asset mapping and needs assessment process.

· Serve as an information resource for the coalition and the community.

· Aid in communications and reporting.

· Perform other duties as required to ensure success of the DFC strategic plan.

· Travel as required.

· Part-time position requires 20 hours per week with flexible hours.

· Position is funded by 5-year Drug Free Communities Grant through SAMSHA.

Skills 
QUALIFICATIONS



· Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral health sciences/business or related field; or equivalent professional experience with
community coalition building.

· Beneficial to have knowledge of prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, to include risk and protective factors,
and best practices.

· Experience in process of community development, results-based planning and evaluation of outcome measures.

· Proven written, oral communication, and public speaking skills.

· Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Social Media.

· High level of maturity, self motivated and mission driven.

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

· Ability to build rapport with broad ranges of partners and thorough knowledge of the consensus building group process.



ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS



· Event Coordination: help plan, set up for events, work events, meetings presentations and clean up after events.

· Assist with coordination and planning major meetings, attends meetings, takes minutes (when necessary), follows through on
matters requiring action.

· Assist with the development of presentations when necessary regarding DFC programs

· Design print and power-point materials for technical assistance and training

· Assist with the planning and implementation of appropriate environmental strategies as part of the comprehensive strategic
and action plans.

· Provides pro-active support to the Project Coordinator.

· Distribute materials via internet, face to face and mailing

· Maintain social networking tools

· Maintain web-site

· Assist in reviewing implementation of all strategies and assist in making modifications as necessary

· Coordinate and implement Town Hall Meetings

· Assist in the development of media campaigns

· Coordinate training opportunities/providing information

· Assemble packets by developing print material; copying; researching resources; ordering materials

· Research current trends to implement evidenced-based strategies by attending local, state, federal
trainings/meetings/presentations, print and electronic material.

· Receives telephone calls, and gives out information regarding activities and programs

· Ensure responsible use and care of office space, equipment and supplies

· Send thank you notes after each event/training in a timely manner

· Coordinate volunteer procedures (background checks, how often they volunteer, how and where they volunteer) to determine in-
kind contribution

· Manages and processes mail, office correspondence and records, determining proper distribution
