Title  Equestrian Specialist Internship
Salary  $230/wk plus housing and
Description  This internship is focused on equestrian and camping career development. Key focus areas of learning include:
• equestrian program management
• herd management
• pasture management
• children/youth ministry and development
• marketing and event planning
• equestrian program and partnership development
In this role, you will grow in your knowledge of equestrian program management by working alongside the Equestrian Director and
other skilled equine professionals. You will also assist in designing and implementing programs for riding lesson students and
summer campers that teach equestrian and horse husbandry skills. You will also design programs to teach equestrian staff effective
leadership skills in relation to the camp’s mission and goals. Based on your skills and program design, you will play a leadership
role for the summer camp season. Interns will live in shared housing in an intentional Christian community which eats, prays,
works, and recreates with one another. Additional mentoring from seasoned camp professionals will help prepare you for your career
in equestrian, camping, or other ministry fields.
Interns are expected to work approximately 40+ hours per week.
The Equestrian Director is the direct supervisor of the Equestrian Specialist Intern.

• Providing leadership for the Equestrian program through horse care and riding instruction
• Design, plan, and implement summer camp equestrian activities and programs
• Supervise other part-time or seasonal equestrian staff members
• Feed and care for horses
• Evaluate and maintain program equipment
• Maintain and teach safe equestrian practices – Safe riding instructor certification program available
• Participate in the worship life of the community
• Other duties as assigned
Required 
Skills 
Applicant must be 21 years old or older and have these gifts and skills:
• at least 4 years’ experience with horseback riding and working with equestrian programs
• passion for and experience in working with children or youth
• enjoyment of working in the outdoors
• desire to share God’s love with children and youth
• team player with a strong work ethic
• excellent communication skills
• gifts in hospitality, creativity, flexibility, and ability to work both in a team and independently
• willingness to have a flexible schedule and work some evenings, weekends or holidays as needed
