Title  Riding Instructor
Description  Valley View Stables LLC (Syracuse, NY) is seeking a riding instructor to teach riding lessons and work with boarders in pursuit of their riding goals. We are a growing
business with an active lesson program offering an opportunity for a like-minded, team-oriented, motivated equine professional to participate in the development of a
successful lesson program.

The position includes the following responsibilities:

Teach general horsemanship principles and skills, and teach students to ride in groups or individual lessons?-- includes regularly scheduled lesson program as well as
special programs such as summer equestrian programs, school break clinics, etc.

Daily operations of riding school – including scheduling of lessons, relevant paperwork regarding students and horses, communication with clients and prospective students
regarding the riding program, and diligence in the conscientious utilization of lesson horses to achieve a healthy workload while maximizing lesson capacity.

Care and exercise of Stable’s lesson horses?- including schooling or tune-up rides, grooming (including trimming, clipping, braiding, etc.), leg care (wrapping, shipping,
etc.), and participation as needed in daily care routine (feeding, worming, turn out, etc.).

Work with boarders and their horses, as needed, on individualized training and/or exercise programs to achieve horse and rider goals.

Preparing riders for competition and shows? - including show planning/enrollment/organizing, accompanying riders to competitions and shows, coaching during
competitions and shows, and participating in the planning and execution of farm-sponsored shows.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Equine Science with relevant experience in Hunter/Jumper instruction and competition. The ability to teach Western lessons is
desirable but not required. Collegiate experience of promising young equine professionals will be seriously considered.

A quick smile, even temperament, sound judgment, positive attitude, good people skills exhibited through patience and kindness, the ability to communicate openly and
honestly, and a reliable and motivated work ethic, are all essential to the job.

The position is a salaried position as an employee of the stable (not independent instructor) and is currently 30 hours per week with the potential to grow along with the
program. Regular hours are typically afternoons-evenings three days per week (i.e., 2:30 -8:30 p.m.), and Saturday & Sunday mornings-early afternoon (8:30 a.m. – 2:30
p.m.), with additional hours as required by show schedules, summer programs, school breaks, etc.
