Suburban's headquarters location in Whippany, NJ has a unique opening for a Product Administrator/Dispatch. As an innovative member of the Dispatch team, you will prepare economical transportation of product (propane) to each retail location. The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong communication, problem solving, and people skills. You will establish and maintain relationships with propane carriers through instant messaging (IM), e-mail, and telephone conversation. You will utilize solid mathematical skills in order to negotiate pricing as product optimization is based on performance and price. You will ensure that the locations receive a daily supply of propane by contacting suppliers on a daily/weekly basis and working with all field locations within your assigned area. Primary Accountabilities: • Dispatch and coordinate deliveries of product to retail locations • Compile and analyze origin reports to determine source selection based on contract requirements • Analyze daily inventory level, contract performance and pricing reports for scheduling purposes • Decide on and distribute work assignments to outside common carriers • Compile and input billing information for each retail location immediately following a customer delivery • Cross train for and handle duties of other Product Administrator(s) in cases of temporary absence • Develop contingency supply and transportation plans for when product and/or transportation is limited Analysis/Decision Making: • Analyze daily inventory, contract performance and pricing reports for scheduling purposes • Based on above analysis, decide on and distribute work assignments to outside common carriers Requirements: Education, Certifications, Specialized Training: • College degree preferred. Functional/Technical Knowledge • Basic knowledge of computer concepts including Microsoft Office • Ability to use mathematical concepts • Strong interpersonal skills • Understands or is willing to learn fuel delivery concepts and practices. • Ability to learn SAP software system • Prior dispatch or scheduling experience helpful Other Specific Requirements • Extended hours may be required during the winter season. • Must be on call 24 hours per day and 7 days per week.
