| Description | AmeriCorps Member Various Enable, Inc. locations - Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Somerset vounties Hours: Full Time (1700 hours/year) Part Time (900 hours/year) Living Allowance: $9.40/hour Supervised by: AmeriCorps Manager AmeriCorps is the national prestigious National Service Program that provides Americans of all ages and backgrounds with the opportunity to perform community service while earning a living allowance and the potential for an education award, health benefits and child care. Qualifications: Required Knowledge and experience working with persons with disabilities Well organized; handles multiple concurrent tasks and projects Able to motivate others Automobile and valid driver's license Able to commit time and energy to term of service - minimum one year of service Communications skills both verbally and in writing or alternative accessible methods Able to pass reference checks United States Citizen, or permanent resident Minimum age of 21 years High School Diploma or GED Responsibilities: Self starter, energetic, mature and team player Assist consumers in preparing for and participating in community activities Working with the AmeriCorps Manager and Enable staff, to assist volunteers, gain community support and recognition Work with Enable employees to provide consumers quality community engagement and social relationships Attend monthly meetings with AmeriCorps Manager and other required trainings Participate in Enable volunteer activities |
