Feeling grateful this morning for restful weekends and friends who are willing to celebrate the small but important triumphs.
One of my best friends from High School just found out her husband has stage 4 lung cancer. He has never smoked a day in his life. As an ex smoker I feel almost guilty because of this.
As she and her family go through this I am watching all our communities; friends and family from near and far even those of us who don’t know each other band together to support them.
Today I am sitting here thinking about them and I could not be more grateful for the kindness and love that lies inside all of our souls.
I take solace in quiet cafes — from the smell of roasting beans and friendly, familiar faces.
Cicero said “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”
I love the peace of early morning. Waking up slowly to the smell, taste and warmth of coffee. It is so quiet I can hear the birds outside. I am grateful for a few still moments to before I get swept up in the momentum of the day.
